Sat 20th October

1st XI SFA South Regional Cup Spartans 1 (Daryl Devlin) Dalbeattie Star 1…aet Spartans win 5 – 4 on pens, scorers Dean Hoskins, Nicky Walker, Donal Henretty, Alex King and Daryl Devlin. A better performance against a good Dalbeattie Star…I’m sure we were saving some goals for next Saturday after seeing quite a number of chances going abegging. Daryl scored in the first minute of extra time, their equaliser coming two minutes later.

3rd XI Logan Cup R1 Danderhall 1 Spartans 2 (Mike Dunstan and Bryan Hawkins pen)…the 3s first win of the season and it should have been by many more. The Rick Shaws man of the match going to Steve Malin

Sun 28th October

There is no Women’s game next weekend as Scotland play Russia at Tynecastle in the first leg play off for the Euro Championship…the ko is 3pm and Spartans have Shelley Kerr, Jo Hutchison and Diana Barry in the squad. This is the furthest Scotland have been in the tournament and it would be great to have a good Spartans support there.

1. We’re looking for another big Spartans turnout for the Scottish Cup game at Annan. The supporters bus will leave Inverleith Park at 11am next Saturday, Cameron has spaces left, please call him on 07962 353645 to book or use the form on the website. Like we did at Pollok we’ll try and get the Spartans fans in one area at the ground. Despite their recent results we are absolutely convinced they will be right up for this game. So will we!

3. Congratulations to Chris F, Alex K, Omar K, Nicky W and Stew F who all featured for the East Of Scotland league select in their 3 – 3 draw with Raith Rovers last Tuesday, Nicky scoring one of the East goals

4. Training on Tuesday for the 1s, 2s and 19s at Peffermill on the grass and the 1s back on Thursday on astro with the 2s and 19s elsewhere
