The 2nd XI lost 3 – 0 at home to Harestanes in the League Cup.  It was a very good Harestanes team who have strengthened last season’s squad and will have a great season both in domestic competition and the national cups.   Spartans got off to the worst possible start losing two goals in the opening six minutes with the third coming early in the second half.  Michael Moffat and Gavin Malin both came close in the last fifteen minutes but to no avail.

Once again, the weather has hit the East of Scotland fixture list hard. Spartans game against Coldstream today has been postponed, along with a number of other EOS fixtures. The rescheduled fixture will be detailed on this website once the details are known.

The 2nd XI took their chances and recorded a fine 9 – 1 victory over Waterside away in the league tonight.  The goals came from Nick Reid 3, Danny Forbes 3, Tomas Mula 2 and Gary Bannon.  Despite Adam Perry’s return from suspension he didnt notch and already has a bit of catching up to do on the scoring chart with Nick and Tomas already on 5.   

The 3rd XI went down 4 – 0 away to Preston Athletic in a league match.
