Saturday, August 16th, 2008 Predictably enough, todays game against Dalbeattie has been cancelled, leaving Spartans still without a game played this season. Next Saturday looks like being Spartans first game of the season with Edinburgh City the visitors to City Park. Kick off is at 2.30pm.Travel to the Dalbeattie Star match

Saturday, August 9th, 2008 Apologies for the late postponement of today’s match against Coldstream at City Park. The rain went off about 12 noon and the pitch was drying out however at 1.45 the referee felt the conditions were still unsafe for the players. Both teams were keen to go ahead but the referee thought the bottom corner of the pitch was especially wet underfoot. Details of the rescheduled date will be made available on this website as soon as the fixture is rearranged.Thanks to all those who spent the morning in the pouring rain trying the get the pitch playable.

At last…a new season…Spartans new signings announced as well
Friday, August 8th, 2008 After a lengthy pre-season we’re off and running tomorrow with a home game against Coldstream. The kick off is 2.30pm….unless there is a deluge of rain the game in the morning will be on, it was playable today. The squad includes new signings midfielder Scott Livingston and utility man James Hair. Scott was previously with Stirling University, East Stirling and Linlithgow Rose. James has signed from Edinburgh University where he played over 120 games over the last four seasons. Only Daryl Devlin is missing as he’s still on holiday….the squad is Flockhart, O’Donnell, Archibald, Fowlie, Gerrard, Hoskins, Kader, Manson, King, Henretty, Preston, Walker, Noon, Young, Burns, Livingston, Hair.Admission is £4/£2 with season tickets also on sale. The programme will cost £1 and it includes all the news across the club including our new Spartans Womens team who start their new SWFL season with an away fixture against Kilmarnock on Sunday. We’ve noticed that only one Hibs home game clashes with our home league games this season and we’re hoping some non-travelling Hibs fans will make City Park then our new ground Ainslie Park their alternate Saturday match venue.
Scottish Youth Cup - Round 1
Friday, August 8th, 2008 Our Under 19s have been drawn at home to Berwick Rangers in the first round of this season’s Scottish Cup. The match will be played at City Park on Sunday 14th September.2008/09 Season Tickets now available for purchase online
