Dress Rehersal then the Wait

July 2, 2008

Late.             Craig went thru a dress rehearsal this evening and everything looked good and dandy. No doubt the other four clubs have done the same and came to the same conclusions. Don’t get me wrong there was a bit of tweaking and Craig took a few points on board. He will no doubt go through it again tomorrow morning before he heads thru.

The bottom line is we are the best choice for the 29 chairmen tomorrow but that doesn’t mean we will get the nod and we all know that. “Cocky wee so an so” I hear you say. “How the Falkirk does he know that” you may add.

Of all the people at all the clubs involved I’ve got more experience of SFL football on and off the park than anyone else from any of the other clubs (I know Harry has been about but I can give him 10 years at least).  Some of the administrators may have a bit more experience off the park than me but as a complete package I’m the man. I’ve sat at umpteen board meetings as a coach, assistant manager and manager itself at two SFL clubs and played over 600 senior games for five.

I know each and every club in the frame and know all their strengths and weaknesses.

Believe me we are the best placed club to step up to SFL football.

“Baw heeded bar steward” I hear my many fans (not) say. You could be right. Remember I’m not saying we’ll get the nod and I don’t even think we are favourites but I know what I know and I’ve been about Scottish Football for a long time.

There are good football teams with good people other than ourselves heading to Hampden tomorrow. They will all give it their best shot and 29 people will decide who gets the golden ticket. One team will get a massive boost and four will live with the consequences.

I love football. Football is my life. Whatever happens tomorrow I’ll still love the game. I’ll still give it my best shot on the touchline be it at Coldstream or Cowdenbeath.

Viva the beautiful game.
